    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring a medical certificate from my country?

Unless you have any of the medical issues, you don’t need to bring a medical certificate with you. If you suffer any of these conditions, visit a physician who will determinate whether you can participate in recreational scuba diving training and activities.

    Do you offer snorkeling trips?

No, we don’t. We are a scuba diving centre, so if you want to experience your beginner dive, please follow this link: Try Dive.

I cannot find a calendar to book a specific date on the website, what do I do?

Before placing your booking, please send us an email ([email protected]) regarding which dates you are interested in, so we can check availability for you prior to booking.

Is rental equipment included in the diving courses?

Yes it is. Please let us know if you are bringing your own equipment with you so we can discount it from the total price of the course.

Is rental equipment included in the price of the guided diving packages?

Only cylinders, weights and transportation are included in the guided dive packages. Full equipment rental is available at €10 per dive and includes Aqualung BCD & regulator, wetsuit, fins and mask. In case of damage or loss, the customer must pay the cost of the repair or replacement.

What extra charges may we encounter on our dives?

As we have honesty as our best policy, we have a List of Extras available for you to check. Please, follow this link – Supplements.

Is there a fixed schedule of dive sites that we visit on specific days?

Dive sites will be chosen close to the time of diving, or even the day before when we do “tomorrow’s plan”, as we wait for the most updated forecast. We are totally dependent on the weather and wind conditions.

Is every dive site listed on your website frequently visited by your dive centre, or do any of them have special requirements?

    • As we have honesty as our best policy, we have a List of Extras available for you to check. Please, follow this link: Supplements.
    • Minimum number of divers for Comino trip and Imperial Eagle + Bristol Beaufighter trip is 8 certified divers, and both trips have an extra charge of €25 per person.
    • Dives in Blue Hole in Gozo and Um el Faroud in the South of Malta may be a possibility after the first day. Blue Hole’s entry and exit are fairly technical, so we will only take you if we feel it is safe with your skill level, and also if the weather is favorable for the site. We think is better to take divers to another dive site first.
    • Also for you to know, there is a €20 supplement for dives on Gozo to cover the ferry cost. Um el Faroud is a dive site where it is common to find currents, so it is recommended to first check your technical skills underwater, to make sure that you are adequately skilled to dive there.

How old do you have to be to be able to scuba dive?

Minimum age to take open water dives is 10 years old in most areas.

How long do I have to wait before flying after scuba diving?

Flying after diving will increase the risk of decompression sickness because of the decreasing atmospheric pressure as we ascend, that is why you should wait 24 hours before flying after diving. In case of DSD + Try dives minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours is suggested.

Is pick up service included in the price?

We offer free pickups from Bugibba, St pauls, Xemxija and Mellieha, although usually from set pick up points in central areas rather than door to door from hotels, apart from in Mellieha. This service is only offered in the mornings. After diving we will bring you back to the dive center.

How can I get to Bezz Diving by public transport?

If you are using public transport, please refer to bus no.222. It leaves from Sliema, passes from St.Julians and gets to Mellieha Bay in about 35 minutes. You need to get off the bus at the stop called TUNNARA and walk around 100m towards Mellieha Bay. We are on the main road on the same side as the bus stop, very easy to find. Please refer to www.publictransport.com.mt for further details.

Do you offer any accommodation packages or pick up service from the airport?

We are not affiliated with any hotels, preferring to focus solely on diving. We would recommend www.airbnb.com and www.booking.com to find your accommodation in Mellieha.

Regarding the airport transfer their are many companies offering transfers to and from Mellieha. Download Bolt app or Uber to get around easily.
